It seems like eBay’s latest charity auction has turned to the dark side.
Some truly incredible and artistic Stormtrooper helmets are now available to the highest bidder, and 100% of the profits will be going to charity.
All of the helmets were created by artists (many of whom work for Disney) and were previously placed on display in various venues and exhibits.
Every cent of the profits from the auctions will be given to UNICEF in order to support their Kid Power movement. UNICEF created the Kid Power movement in order to educate children about global malnutrition and get them involved in the aid process.
Children who are part of this movement wear a physical activity tracker on their wrist (similar to a Fitbit) and compete in groups to get as many Kid Power Points as possible. These points are then converted into dollars by sponsors, which UNICEF uses to procure and deliver therapeutic food to malnourished kids across the globe.
Many of the helmets available for auction will surely be out of financial reach for even for the most generous soul, but luckily you can still help out the cause whether you choose to bid on a helmet or not! UNICEF accepts monetary donations over the phone or through their website.
And by the way, donations to UNICEF are 100% tax deductible!
