John Green has an announcement. The Fault in Our Stars author, who wrote some of my favorite novels (Will Grayson, Will Grayson, Looking for Alaska, and on) is giving a lucky fan an extraordinary gift. Have you ever sat and read one of his books and wondered if you were in one what you would do? Maybe it’s just me, but this is big news for some and it’s all for a super great cause.
Lining up nicely with the release of the film adaptation of his novel Paper Towns, Green is holding a charity auction to benefit PEN/Faulkner Foundation, a non-profit organization that benefits school reading programs and authors of all ages.
The winning bidder will have their name only featured in Mr. Green’s newest book, though he reserves all rights to what “you” do as well as how major or minor a character you end up being. He does, however, promise that “you” will not die by some horrible cancer or any other manner, for that matter, via his Twitter account:
I promise your character will not die in the novel. (but I can’t promise when the book will be finished) https://t.co/6BCe4KSZuV
