So… A Ned Flanders Metal Band Exists

…Or as they call it, a ‘Nedal’ band.

Okilly Dokilly is a Pheonix based band that is completely inspired by Ned Flanders, Homer’s super religious, nonsense sprouting neighbor on The Simpsons.

The band consists of five members: Head Ned, Bled Ned, Red Ned, Thread Ned, and Stead Ned. Each of them dresses exactly like Ned Flanders, donning green sweaters, pink collars, glasses, and some super dank mustachios.

Okilly Dokilly in all their diddly dang glory (Facebook)

And it’s not just their outfits that are Flanders themed, the band claims that their song lyrics are all based off of Flanders quotes.

So where the hell did this outlandish (but lets face it, pretty awesome) band theme come from?

“Myself and our drummer were in line at a grocery store, entertaining ourselves by coming up with really cutesy names for really hardcore, brutal bands,” lead singer Head Ned told Rip It Up.

“The name Okilly Dokilly came up and was very funny to us – we ran with it. I contacted a few friends, and here we are.”

They consider their sound “Not as fast as Bartcore, and a little cleaner than Krusty Punk.”

You can hear Okilly Dokilly rock their finely pressed socks in Pheonix, Arizona on September 5. Or, you know, just listen to them online like normal people.

Let’s see the band try to pull off this outfit during their show, though:

Ugh. Stupid sexy Flanders.

Do you love it, hate it, or are you just downright confused? Let us know in the comments below!

Giant Minion Wreaks Havoc in Ireland, Attacks Drivers!

The Minions from Despicable Me have begun their assault on humanity, and they’re doing it on a HUGE scale.

A giant Minion towering at over 40 ft tall wreaked Havoc in Dublin, Ireland yesterday by situating himself in the middle of a congested Dublin street, creating a traffic jam that lasted nearly 3 hours.

The Minion, who authorities later identified as Kevin, was hysterically laughing and shooting a fart blaster gun in the the direction of incoming vehicles, filling unsuspecting victims vehicles with pure putrid disgustingness.  Victims described the scent as “a mix of beans, Ron Jeremy’s ass, and week old Chipotle.”

Authorities attempted to calm down the giant Minion and escort him off of the road, but this was a task that proved difficult, as the officers and civilians on the scene were not fluent in Minionese, the native tongue of the Minions.

https://twitter.com/someecards/status/628535032630652928/photo/1

They were eventually able to get the Minion to safety and open back up the roadways for motorists by bribing the Minion with a truckload full of fresh bananas.

Irish authorities at this time are unsure why the minion was in the middle of the road, but they suspect that the yellow fellow has ties to the Provisional Irish Republican Army. It is believed that the giant Minion was being manipulated and used simply as a political ploy, as the IRA has been known to pull off elaborate stunts in order to bring awareness to their fight against Northern Ireland.

The IRA was most recently involved in a stunt which included a giant Twilight Sparkle (from My Little Pony). The angry pony stomped fields outside of Belfast and left glittery dung throughout the entire Northern Ireland region.

The minion was held in custody briefly but was later released. Surprisingly, no charges are to be filed, but the Minion may have to pay a fine and reimburse authorities for the cost of nearly 2,000 bananas.

Okay, you know that’s all bullshit. Here’s the real story:

A 40 ft tall inflatable Minion broke free of its restraints in a fair outside of Dublin due to the wind, got stuck in the middle of the road, effectively halting traffic, and was soon deflated and removed with no injuries or accidents reported.

https://twitter.com/TODAYshow/status/628337029575671808/photo/1

I still prefer my version of events, though. Cause let’s be real: a gigantic Minion wreaking havoc in Ireland would be a great plot point in the third Despicable Me movie, which hits theaters June 2017.

How do you feel about minions taking over the world? Let us know in the comments below!

‘The Sword in the Stone’ Set To Become Live Action Movie

With the success of animated turned live action movies, Disney has announced that in addition to its Prince Charming project,  they will also be making a live action rendition of The Sword in the Stone, with Game of Thrones writer Bryan Cogman writing the script.

The original 1963 animated movie is based off of T.H White’s novel of the same name (which later went on to be a series of books called The Once and Future King). For those unfamiliar with the story, The Sword in the Stone is about a 12 year old orphaned boy that becomes king after removing a sword stuck in a London anvil, thus become King Arthur.

Coinciding with the news he will be writing the script, Cogman posted the following Tweet:

https://twitter.com/b_cogman/status/623233496430059520

Bryan Cogman is still pretty fresh in the industry in regards to script writing, having really only worked on Game of Thrones. He’s been with Thrones since day one and has written several episodes, but he is primarily just the script editor on the show.

In addition to The Sword in the Stone, Cogman will also be writing the script for the movie adaptation of Magic: The Gathering.

There is no news yet about when the movie is slated to be released, but Geekgirl World will keep you updated!

Do you think Bryan Cogman has what it takes to bring The Sword and the Stone to life? Let us know in the comments below!

Live Action Prince Charming Movie in the Works

Have you ever wanted to see your favorite Disney prince’s back story? Wouldn’t it be even better if that story was live action?

Well, Disney has recently taken the steps to make this happen!  They’re now pushing forward with a live action movie script written by Matt Fogel that is all about Prince Charming.

Disney already has a live action Cinderella, plus an upcoming Beauty and the Beast film starring Emma Watson, but this will be the first time that they will tap into the wonderful world of the princes.

One of the biggest questions surrounding this upcoming project is which Prince Charming are they going to feature? Will it be Cinderella’s Prince or Snow Whites? (Cinderella’s prince is Prince Charming, but Snow’s prince is labeled as a charming prince, and he is sometimes called Prince Charming).

With all the old fairy tales being turned into live action movies, it’s going to be fun to see how they interpret these stories and re-imagine them (personally, I will be the first to buy tickets to The Little Mermaid if they ever decide to make that into a live action movie. My Fingers are crossed double for this, and please cast Felicia Day as Ariel!).

Either way, it’s going to be awesome to see these tales spun from a different point of view and learn more about these characters!

Which prince do you think they will feature? Let us know in the comments below!

Fans of Guardians of the Galaxy don’t have to wait another 2 years before seeing their favorites on the screen. Disney XD and Marvel announced today an animated series premiering on September 26!
