This England born singer song writer started her career in 1988, when she joined Automatic Dlamini as a vocalist, guitarist, and saxophone player. Harvey later went on as a solo artist, and since 1995, she has released six studio albums with collaborations from various musicians.

Rolling Stone awarded her 1992’s “Best New Artist” and “Best Singer Songwriter”, and on their 1995 list she was named “Artist of the Year”.  In June 2013, she was awarded an MBE by the Queen Elizabeth II for her services to music.

Does this album live up to Weezer’s reputation? Find out in my review:

Weezer is an American rock band based in Los Angeles, California. The band’s current members are Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell, and Scott Shriner. Some of Weezer’s top hits include ‘Pork and Beans’ (Red Album), ‘Photograph’ (Green Album), and ‘Buddy Holly’ (Blue Album)

On October 2015, Weezer released a new single, ‘Thank God for Girls’, and another single, ‘Do You Wanna Get High?’, the following week.

The band is scheduled to co-headline the Weezer & Panic! at the Disco Summer Tour this Summer.

With songs like C3Po’s Plight what Star Wars fan wouldn’t have fun dancing along to the beats.  Don’t take our word for it though,  go listen to the tracks available in iTunes and let us here at GeekGirl World know what you thought.

Music Monday: Valentine’s Day Songs!

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and what better way to celebrate the season of all things love than with music! After all, people have been using music to express their deep feelings of love since, well, forever.

So with V-Day fresh in mind, Lacey (GeekGirl World’s official music guru) decided to pick five songs that remind her of her Valentine for this week’s edition of Music Monday.

Everybody interprets music differently, so it’s important to note that what qualifies as a love song is different for each person. A song don’t necessarily have to be soft and romantic so long as it lets your special someone know how you feel about them.

Check out this weeks Music Monday below:

What are your five songs that remind you of your special someone? Let us know in the comments!
