Official First Look At Call Of Duty: Black Ops III

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is set for release on November 6, 2015, but we are getting our first official glimpses in to the game and the storyline. It looks a lot like it could have been called Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare II, because of the future tech and exo suits depicted in the trailer. However, the Black Ops brand definitely carries a lot more weight than the Advanced Warfare brand, so from a marketing standpoint this is an obvious decisive move to go with the label that will sell more games. It’s unclear how much in this trailer is actual game play or actual in-game cut scenes versus pre-rendered footage, but the graphics still look stunning.

Lots of mixed feelings going around with this new reveal, as Advanced Warfare was certainly popular enough to receive it’s own direct sequel, while many were also waiting for a new addition to Black Ops line that was more in keeping with the WWII/Vietnam/Cold War theme.  The “Ember” film tease is a sobering foreshadowing of what we can only assume that Treyarch is considering the “New Cold War”.

At least we know zombies are returning again to the game and that is comforting! Pre-order is available now to get into the playable beta, though launch dates for the beta have yet to be determined.
