After a break that felt longer than making the Kessel Run by roller skates, Star Wars Rebelsreturned to Disney XD this week, inspiring us to watch a Star Warsthemed fan film!
We chose an award winning stop motion animation project by Jordan & Cody Gustafson called Bounty Buddies. Was this the epic fan film we were looking for? Or was it forced? Check out our review to find out what we thought of the fan film!

It’s Judgment Day for Terminator: Resistance, a fan film on the Made Legit Media YouTube channel that was produced by Jesse Scimeca and directed by John Riddle.
AMC just released a new promo video for Fear the Walking Dead that is sure to set you on edge!
The promo video is less than 30 seconds long but it does an amazing job of portraying just how much fear there will be on the new series. Nick (Frank Dillane) is seen escaping out of a window looking as though he just dressed very quickly and is clamoring for what we assume is his life. The promo doesn’t show any undead, but it does show Nick racing down an alley and out into the street, panicked and in complete terror while trying desperately to keep his pants up.
Fear The Walking Dead is a spinoff of The Walking Dead. The series takes place in Los Angeles during the initial stages of the zombie outbreak. It is set to air this August.
Every small glimpse of the new cast that is released stirs more and more excitement and this new promo doesn’t disappoint.
Check out the video below!
Are you excited for the new companion series? Will you be tuning in each week? Do you think this will be better with no source material (i.e. The Walking Dead comics) for people to compare it to? Or, are you concerned it won’t have as good of a plot and writing without the bone structure of great source material?
Last week we asked you guys, our amazing readers, to show off your cuddly canine(s) and send in your favorite photos and stories for a chance to be featured right here on GGW!
Proud dog mom Kara did just that, and this Sunday we have decided to feature her very special pups, Napoleon and Lex!
Napoleon (right) is a lively pug and Lex (left, of course!) is a Brussels Griffon. Both pups live together with Kara at her home!
Napoleon is 11-years-old and suffers from arthritis and diabetes.
He lost one of his eyes due to an unfortunate accident that occurred when he was just a puppy. But it’s his enormous tongue, rather than his missing eye, that really draws the most attention!
Napoleon is my super special one-eyed, diabetic, arthritic Pug who shows the world that all you need is love (and a soft lap and plenty of treats)!
Kara knew that Napoleon needed a sibling so she adopted Alexander, an extremely cute and friendly Brussels Griffon, when Napoleon was about 4-years-old!
[He] latched on to his big brother immediately and remains devoted for life. Napoleon would probably rather he stayed an only child, since [his] little brother will not give him a moment’s peace.
Both dogs were named after important men in history, but they aren’t exactly the ones you’d expect.
To the outside world, we present Napoleon and Alexander as being named after strong famous historical figures. But those who know us, know we have a far geekier inspiration for the pups’ names: Napoleon Dynamite and Lex Luthor!
A big thank you to dog mom Kara for sharing her adorable canines!

You may soon be able to rock an Iron Man edition of the Samsung Galaxy S6!
Samsung recently tweeted an image of what appears to be a red Galaxy S6 Edge box with Iron Man’s face embossed in gold with the words “coming soon” glowing above.
The tweet has since been deleted by Samsung, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that any plans to release the special edition Iron Man S6 are being scrapped from the table.
Samsung’s head of marketing for their mobile division announced earlier in the month that the new phones would be released late May or early June.
This new phone will have been created due to a partnership between Samsung and Marvel.
Samsung has released a few advertising campaigns in cooperation with Marvel, and in one of them you may be able to see what the Iron Man themed phone will look like. View the video below and shortly after the 3:00 marker you will see the Iron Man Galaxy phone, as well as other versions corresponding to the different Avengers.
There is no word yet on what the price of this new phone will be, and we do not know if it will be exclusive to certain wireless carriers.
Samsung’s tweet only specifies that it will be available for the Edge, but there is a possibility that it may be available for the normal S6 as well.
The Edge has nearly identical specifications to the normal S6, but the screen on the Edge is curved, allowing for colorful side notifications when the phone is placed faced down. It is slightly thicker than the S6, but also is slightly lighter in weight.
Both phones run on Android Lollipop and boast a unibody aluminum design with 32 GB of storage available at the base model level. There is no removable battery or external storage slot, which is a huge change from past Galaxy incarnations, where those features were standard.
The Galaxy S6 currently starts at $199.99 USD (with a 2 year standard contract), while the Edge is priced starting at $299.99 USD (again, with a 2 year standard contract).

Universal said the following in regard to the partnership in their official PR release:
Universal theme parks offer incredibly popular, innovative themed family entertainment experiences based on compelling stories and characters – using powerful storytelling and innovative technology. Nintendo has created remarkable and imaginative worlds filled with captivating stories and beloved characters.
Now, for the first time, those stories and characters will be brought to life in entirely new ways—only at Universal theme parks.
There is no word yet on how they plan to integrate the world of Nintendo into the theme parks, but the potential is there for something truly incredible.
It is quite possible that they will transform an entire section of one of their existing theme parks into a Nintendo area, similar to what they did with the absolutely incredible Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida. Just imagine an interactive Super Mario Bros. ride, a Mario Kart themed go-kart track, or an interactive Legend of Zelda journey.
And if any Universal Studios higher-ups in development are reading this right now, just know that I am available to think up some more amazing ideas for you! …Paid, naturally.
GeekGirl World will keep you updated as new news on this partnership is released!
What Nintendo goodies do you think they should include in the parks? Let us know in the comments below!
Ewan McGregor is in final negotiations to star as Lumiere in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.
The Scottish actor joins an already star-studded cast comprised of Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, and Luke Evans as Gaston.
Bill Condon is directing Disney’s latest live-action fairy tail, with David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman producing.
Lumiere (right) in 1991’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’
There is no word yet on how McGregor’s Lumiere will differ from the character in the 1991 animated version of Beauty and the Beast, which grossed more than $375 million worldwide.
Disney fans (as well as mostly anyone who was a child in the 90’s) will remember Lumiere as a charismatic servant who was transformed into a candelabra by a curse placed upon the Prince’s castle and all its inhabitants.
In the animated feature, Lumiere was most famous for singing “Be My Guest”.
There is no word yet as to whether or not McGregor’s part will involve singing, but Emma Watson did confirm that the film will have musical roots when she announced her involvement in the film on Facebook, sharing with fans her excitement to “…get to dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing ‘Something There’”
Either way it shouldn’t be an issue for McGregor, who famously busted out his vocal chops in Moulin Rouge.
Beauty and the Beast begins filming next month, and is currently scheduled for a March 2017 release.

Universal has just released the latest trailer for Jurassic World!
Hold on to your butts, we are in for a thrill!
This latest trailer shows us non-stop action and gives us sneak peak at some of the incredible sequences that we are going to see, including a scene where a helicopter, I repeat, a HELICOPTER, is struck down by (presumably) a dinosaur.
The trailer also gives us a better look at Jurassic World’s newest monstrosity, Indominous Rex.
We know already that she is a lab created hybrid, but upon looking closely at her characteristics it’s a fair guess that she is a hybrid of the T-Rex and a Velociraptor. The body of the dinosaur closely resembles the T-Rex, but the shape and styling of her head (as well as that creepy blinking) is a lot more reminiscent of a Raptor.
But since it was revealed that Indominous Rex was designed to be larger than the T-Rex, maybe there’s a third entity mixed in. Perhaps the Spinosaurus (From Jurassic Park III)?
The trailer also gave us more insight into how exactly Chris Pratt’s character is able to tame and control his raptor squad. Many theories online speculated that their obedience may have been due to genetic manipulation, but based on this trailer he seems to be able to “control” them simply through good ol’ R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
Everything will be known for sure when Jurassic World hits theaters June 12th.
