Dog Day Sunday: Rescues and Drunks!

It doesn’t matter whether you have rain, shine, or apocalyptic asteroids being pelted down on you, it’s Sunday, and Sunday is always the perfect day to snuggle up with your fur baby.

But if you don’t have a fur baby to snuggle up to, fear not! The internet was invented solely so we could look up pictures of cute animals. Well, that and dirty, dirty things.

….But lets just focus on the former for today!

Here are seven awesome pets that are sure to brighten even the most miserable of days:

Murphy & Roxy

Murphy on the right is my “brusselranian” I got him in 2009 from Georgia Rescue and Rehab. The breeders of pomeranian and brussell griffin accidentally let the two breeds mix and when the pups (1 boy and 1 girl) were born they threw them away. Murphy and his sister were both adopted yay. He is very protective of me.

Roxie is on the left…basically found while I was checking on another dog I thought was injured. The owner of dog I was checking on came out of a shack wearing a t-shirt only…had maybe 3 teeth in her mouth and Roxie followed her out. Her dog was not injured and she said if you want this puppy you can have it…there was no way I was leaving that baby there and thats how we got her. She doesn’t know she’s a dog. She wants to be cuddled at all times.

As you can see in picture they get bored easily.

– Shannon, Alabama

Riley

This is Riley. He likes to pee on couches even if he’s just peed outside. He is a master at catching balls in his mouth and loves to play frisbee. He’s a total cuddle bug and super protective of his humans.

– Alana, Connecticut

Skippy

This is Skippy! We’ve had him for 11 years now and he’s the best little guy to come home too, especially when I’m home sick. His past times are attacking sprinklers, going on long walks and goes swimming at the lake! He loves to play with “little men” and chase the ball when you play catch in the yard. He loves to cuddle and is wicked friendly to people and other dogs.

– Penelope, Florida

Pepper

Pepper, she’s very shy, but when she’s feeling frisky, she wont stop asking to play in the backyard or go for a walk. She’s a rescue, and although she’s a bit weird, we’re glad to give her a loving, safe home.

– Dan, New York

Smokey Joe

This is Smokey Joe got him when he was 4 months old. I broth him home in 2012. He loves meeting anyone and he likes a like beer every now and then. But he loves the ladies.

– Sandy, Alabama

Genevieve

This modest little lady is Genevieve. She’s our rescue baby. She had a very hard start in life. She had horrible things done to her when she was young. If you’re wondering where her tail is well that’s one of the things done to her, it was not taken off by a Dr. So now she’s rightfully the laziest, spoiled rotten fur baby there is and she’s loved by everyone.

– Landy, Alabama

Walter T. Pigg

This is Walter Thaddeaus Pigg of the Alpine. He is fancy as hell.
He like things like chewing stairs and walls. He is baffled why kitty cats don’t like him. He bows like Buckbeak when he’s saying sorry. He steals whiskey from mommy. He is perplexed by broccoli. He’s the best Bernese ever!

– Jacilyn, New York

Secret Warriors Coming to ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

We all pretty much expected that season three of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would continue the hunt for Jiaying and the other fugitive inhumans, but now thanks to Variety we know that some new key players from the comics will be joining S.H.I.E.L.D.’s cause: the Secret Warriors.

The Secret Warriors are a team of agents with superhuman powers that former S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury assembled. They were originally introduced in the Secret Invasion tie-in issues of Mighty Avengers, but the Secret Warriors gained the most notoriety as part of a comic series of the same name.

Included among the Warriors is Daisy “Quake” Johnson, better known by Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans as Skye (Chloe Bennet).

These individuals have remained Agents-of-Shield-Skyemostly hidden due to the Caterpillar initiative (which Coulson briefly discussed with Skye last season).

And speaking of Agent Coulson, he will most likely begin scouring the world this season for inhumans to recruit to his dwindling team. But with these extraordinary powers at large, Agent Coulson surely won’t be the only one tracking down new inhumans.

The Secret Warriors should definitely add some excitement to the upcoming season, which premiers September 29th on ABC!

What are your theories on where the story will go? Let us know in the comments below!

Harry Potter Play to Open Next Year!

Muggles rejoice! Harry Potter is getting the theatrical treatment!

J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany have joined epic forces to bring a brand new, never before told story about Harry Potter to the stage.

The play, titled Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, opens next summer at the Palace Theatre in London, with tickets going on sale this autumn.

Rowling announced the exciting news this morning (well, her morning) on her official website.

We don’t know much about the plot of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child yet, but we do know that it will be set when Harry was just a wee lad, still an infant in the ways of magic.

She actually teased the play a couple years ago (yup, this has been in production for a while!) in an official release, releasing these plot details:

This brand new play, which will be developed for the UK theatre, will explore the previously untold story of Harry’s early years as an orphan and outcast. Featuring some of our favourite characters from the Harry Potter books, this new work will offer a unique insight into the heart and mind of the now legendary young wizard.  A seemingly ordinary boy, but one for whom Destiny has plans…

Although it will tell the untold story of Harry’s early years, the play will NOT be a prequel, a fact which Rowling herself stressed on Twitter:

This means that the story will most likely take place during one of Harry’s summer breaks from Hogwarts, a time frame that was rarely explored in the books.

But don’t expect to hear many plot details from Rowling! She will be keeping tight lipped about the play until it premiers next summer in London.

There is no word yet on whether or not the show will ever expand to Broadway in New York City, but for the sake of Potter fans everywhere lets sure as hell hope so!

How do you feel about Harry Potter hitting the stage? Let us know in the comments!

Jon Snow… err… Kit Harington Joins Brimstone!

It has been a rough two weeks since the shocking Game of Thrones season finale. Time doesn’t heal all wounds, and many of us Jon Snow fans are still left with a gaping hole inside that only Kit Harington can fill.

(Alright, perhaps I could have worded that better, but you get the point: the people want, no, need more Kit Harington!)

And while he may not be returning to Game of Thrones for season 6 (a “fact” that I refuse to admit), we can still appreciate his acting chops as he takes on other creative endeavors.

Case in point: Brimstone.

Harington will be starring alongside Dakota Fanning and Guy Pearce in the upcoming thriller as Samuel, an outlaw who helps Fanning’s character escape the evil clutches of Pearce!

There will be a mini Game of Thrones cast reunion on the set of Brimstone as well, as Harington’s ugh, I hate this word, former co-star Carice van Houten (Melisandre!!) will also be starring in the flick.

Although he’s sure to be in high demand now, Harington actually wasn’t the first choice for this role. He will be replacing Twilight‘s Robert Pattinson, who left the project due to conflicting interests.

Brimstone is scheduled for a 2016 release.

But just in case you can’t wait that long, you can see more of Jon Snow Kit Harington on July 7th in HBO’s tennis mockumentary 7 Days in Hell, where he stars alongside SNL‘s Andy Samberg.

But either way, we still want to see Jon Snow back. It’s gonna happen.

Will you be checking out either of these films? Let us know in the comments below!

AMC has released yet another promo trailer for Fear the Walking Dead!

The trailer shows a teenage boy and a woman discussing an “alleged” virus that has been turning people in five states, with the subsequent killings being brushed off by the woman as being online hysteria. The woman claims that “the authorities would tell us,” if such a thing was happening.

…Right.

Fear the Walking Dead is set in Los Angeles and will follow a family as they try to survive the outbreak.

Unlike its gory predecessor, The Walking Dead, this series is said to be more of a family drama.
