Film Friday: ‘The Jungle Book’ Review

This week, I’m reviewing the new live action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale about a young boy raised in the jungle and his journey to escape the imminent threat to his life. This happens to be one of my favorite animated classics from Disney. Right now, Disney seems to be on a trend where they want to make live action versions of their previously animated movies. This is a trend that I wish Disney would get over, like their trend to turn all their theme park attractions into live action movies. At least that seems to have stopped with Tomorrowland. Now if you want to know if I think this film is worth a shot, you will have to watch my review below. Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

The Jungle Book is in theaters now, starring Neel Sethi as Mowgli Bill Murray as Baloo, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa, Giancarlo Esposito as Akela, and Christopher Walken as King Louie.

First Teaser Trailer for ‘The Jungle Book’ Releases

https://allhdwallpapers.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/the-jungle-book-8.jpg

Following the trend with Disney’s live action remakes of originally animated movies, The Jungle Book, directed by Iron Man’s Jon Favreau, and starring newcomer Neel Sethi  as Mowgli, is set to hit theatres next spring. Yesterday, the studio released its first teaser trailer for the film and held a #thejunglebook Q&A on Twitter.

The original animated movie released in 1967 by Disney, and was based on Rudyard Kipling’s writings, is seeing new light with a combination of live action and photorealistic CGI for the animals and environments in this new film. The film will follow Mowgli, a man-cub whose been raised by wolves. When Mowlgi feels unwelcomed, he flees from the only home he’s known to set out on a quest to find himself with the panther turned mentor Bagheera guiding him along with Baloo, the hippy bear.

The film features some great actors and actresses of this generation, and some I think are really good choices just based off their voices (Where’s Rickman, and Cumberbatch?) Ben Kingsley will lend his voice of Bagheera the panther, and Baloo, the free-spirited (hippy) bear will be voiced by Bill Murray. Scarlett Johansson will hypnotize the audience as Kaa the python, Idris Elba is Shere Kahn, the tiger that makes Mowgli leave his only home, and lastly, Christopher Walken will be King Louie, who tries to talk Mowgli into telling him where the red flower is.

Lupita Nyong’o and Giancarlo Esposito will also lend voices to the film. They will play mother wolf Rakasha and alpha-male Akela.

The Jungle Book will release on April 15, 2016.
