The Magicians Trailer Is Enchanting!

Last week the announcement came that The Magicians was green lit for 12 episodes on the SyFy Channel. Today they released the first trailer highlighting some of the amazing things to come in the series.

The Magicians follows Quentin and his rag-tag team of friends as they find, attend, and graduate Brakebills Academy in New York. They discover their childhood book series, and its enchanting land of Fillory really exists, and needs their help restoring it to it shining glory.

The release date has not been announced, but coming from the trailer, The Magicians will premier sometime in 2016. Hopefully sooner, rather than later.

Check out the trailer below!

Lev Grossman’s ‘The Magicians’ Gets Full Series Go!

Last summer, Syfy announced that they had greenlit a pilot episode for Lev Grossman’s The Magicians. Just a few days ago, it was confirmed that they would be turning the first book in the trilogy into a 12-part series set to begin filming later this summer, with a release date still to be determined.

For those of you not familiar with this series, here’s a little bit of a rundown:

The story follows Quentin, a boy in his 20’s that has super intelligence and a knack for illusions and slight of hand. While walking home one day, he follows a piece of paper to a field where his life is then changed forever. He tests and makes it in Brakebills Academy, a school for magicians. Throughout his learning there, he finds out that Fillory, a place he thought only existed in his favorite childhood book was a real place, and had real threats, both in Fillory and the world. He and his small group of friends, Eliot, Alice and Penny travel to there, and take it upon themselves to protect the land and restore it to the former glory of their childhood stories.

The series is set to star Jason Ralph as Quentin, Sosie Bacon as Alice, Hale Appleman as Eliot, and Arjun Gupta as Penny.
