‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ Posters Unveiled

In 2010, Alice in Wonderland, a live adaption for the book by the same name, directed by Tim Burton, was released to mixed reviews by movie goers. However, the movie still earned more than $1 billion dollars worldwide is going forward with Alice Through the Looking Glass.

With D23, Disney’s version of Comic Con, we’re getting some new posters for the film which feature Alice and the Mad Hatter.

This time around though, Tim Burton is not directing the movie due to other filming schedules. Instead, he’s on board to produce the film.

All of the previous cast will be returning. Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Stephen Fry, Alan Rickman, Michael Sheen, and, of course, Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska, along with newcomers Sacha Baron Cohen, Rhys Ifans, and Andrew Scott are all slated to appear.

Alice Through the Looking Glass will hit theaters May 27, 2016.

Review: Frankenweenie on Blu-Ray

!cid_DB46629F-098D-42D0-8C39-4CCD1A634E4A

To put it simply, “Frankenweenie” is the story about a boy and his dog. However, tales about boys and their dogs are often more than what they seem on the surface, and this latest effort from mastermind Tim Burton is no exception. This dark and stunningly visual stop-motion animation production in conjunction with Disney Studios is a joyous homage to all the things that are wonderful about childhood.

The story centers around Victor, a young boy with a penchant for scientific study who suddenly loses his beloved dog Sparky. Instead of accepting the loss, Victor decides to bring his dog back to life using the power of science, and that is when things take an uproariously hilarious turn. Shot in a noir-esque black & white tone, this film maintains the spirit of Tim Burton’s original 1984 short film while creating a new updated narrative that speaks to kids and adults of all ages. “Frankenweenie” is fun and engaging without being too dark and over the top for kids, but also maintains a nice storyline that can hold a parent’s interest, and doesn’t have a condescending vibe like many family and children’s oriented films seem to take these days.

The four disc Blu-Ray combo pack includes:

  • Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy
  • All New Original Short: “Captain Sparky vs The Flying Saucers”—An exciting all-new short featuring Victor and Sparky’s home movie.
  • “Miniatures In Motion: Bringing ‘Frankenweenie’ To Life”—Viewers get an in-depth tour of the London set that includes never-before-seen footage showcasing the hundreds of artists who worked on the film.
  • “Frankenweenie” Touring Exhibit—Allows audiences to explore the artistry of the film’s puppets, sets and props in a showcase that’s traveling the world.
  • “Frankenweenie” Original Live Action Short—Burton’s original live-action short film.
  • Music Video—“Pet Sematary” performed by Plain White T’s

Frankenweenie is out in stores now!
