This ‘Walking Dead’ Character Will Probably Die in the Finale

[Warning: while this article is 100% speculative, it may or may not contain Walking Dead spoilers]

Walking Dead fans have a lot of reasons to be worried going into tonight’s season 6 finale.

Daryl, Rosita, Glenn and Michonne have been captured by the Saviors, Maggie’s unborn baby is in trouble, Carol is MIA, and the biggest threat to Team Rick is set to make an appearance: Negan.

Chances are extremely high that at least one member of our group won’t survive the finale, but the question is… who? I have a pretty strong idea of who it may be, but let’s cover our bases and explore a few options here:

Possible Victim #1: Carol

The group’s resident Terminator is running out of pages in her Death Note, and it seems that only now is she feeling the moral repercussions of her past executions.

We’ve seen a weaker, more vulnerable side of Carol in the later half of season 6, and her crisis of conscience has prompted her to secretly flee Alexandria, escaping unseen in one of the town’s outer defense vehicles. Carol was accosted by Saviors during her somber exit, forcing her to reluctantly (but quite awesomely) take out an entire truck full of enemies with some hidden sleeve heat.

Carol left her rosary on the ground during her battle with the Saviors, which may end up symbolizing her acceptance of the “evil” within her. If she decides to use that evil for the greater good (think Boondock Saints), then Carol may come in guns blazing and help save the group from the Saviors. If she is killed in the process, then her death will be a symbolic act of moral redemption, essentially ending her story.

But I honestly doubt that will happen.

Morgan is hot on Carol’s trail, and the awkward moral tension between these two characters hasn’t yet subsided. If anyone is able to calm the internal storm that is currently raging within Carol, then it might be Morgan with his “all life is precious” rhetoric.

Or Daryl, but that’s just my OTP talking.

Possible Victim #2: Daryl

Speaking of that handsome devil… things aren’t looking too good for fan-favorite Daryl, who has been captured and shot by the very Savior he once showed mercy to.

Replay after replay of last week’s episode shows us that his wound appears to be only a shoulder hit, but with Dr. Denise now dead and buried, a wound of that magnitude may still prove to be fatal if not immediately treated.

But if Daryl’s fate for this season is indeed death, then the Saviors aren’t exactly helping.

Daryl pissed off a lot of folks when he blew the Saviors biker gang up with an RPG, but the fact that the remaining Saviors didn’t kill him when given the chance (two chances), signifies that the Saviors are more than likely trying to recruit Daryl and the rest of the Alexandria kill-squad into their ranks.

Also, it’s a known fact that if Daryl dies, we riot, so there’s that.

If my theory regarding the Saviors is to be believed, then Michonne, Glenn, and Rosita should also come out of the encounter relatively unscathed.

Possible Victim #3: Glenn

…Welllllll, maybe not Glenn.

Even if the Saviors are indeed trying to recruit team Rick into their ranks, that doesn’t mean blood won’t be shed. In fact it all but guarantees it.

The Saviors aren’t going to get Rick’s group on board with their heinous shenanigans by singing Kumbaya and roasting mallows. No, they need to be able to exert power over Rick’s group, and the way they do that is through fear.

Glenn will most likely be killed by the Saviors to send Rick and the rest of Alexandria a simple message: fuck with us and die, work with us and live.

Why Glenn? Well, let me be brutally honest here in a way that I know will be controversial:

The Saviors won’t kill Daryl because, let’s face it, they need his strength and marksmanship. Michonne and Rosita won’t be killed either, as they have the potential to provide the Saviors with something that the post-apocalyptic world desperately needs a little more of: booty.

Glenn will most likely be targeted by the Saviors due to his smaller stature, which they may deem to be less than useful. Or, even worse, they may target Glenn simply because of his ethnicity.

Many fans were fooled into thinking that Glenn was dead in the beginning of the season thanks to Dumpstergate, and killing him in the finale is, sadly enough, the perfect way to bring that drama full circle once again.

…I just hope I’m wrong.

The Walking Dead season finale airs tonight, 9/8 PM Central.

Who do you think will kick the bucket in the finale? Let us know in the comments!

‘The Walking Dead’ May Be Trolling Us All

[Warning: you are entering into spoiler territory! If you haven’t seen the latest TWD episode and don’t want to know what happens, don’t continue reading this article]

For a show that is notorious for relentlessly hitting fans right in the feels season after bloody season, you’d think at this point we’d be numb to losing our favorite characters. But I think it’s safe to say that after the latest episode of The Walking Dead, a lot of us are in need of a little comfort and hope right now.

Well, here’s probably the biggest comforting line you can hear right now: Glenn isn’t dead!

His ‘death’ is simply one big fandom trolling event, and I have five pieces of evidence to back this fact claim up:

1.  Nicholas’ body fell on Glenn

Nicholas falls on top of Glenn when his corpse tumbles to the earth, and while we don’t necessarily see him on top of Glenn when the walkers begin munching down, we do see something else: entrails.

No shit, right? He’s supposed to be walker food, after all. But take a closer look at those entrails:

Those are clearly intestines, which, last time I checked, aren’t located near your neck. So unless the special effects team and the producers missed Basic Human Anatomy 101 (and with TWD’s attention to detail, I find that highly unlikely), the obvious conclusion we can gather from this is that it’s not Glenn being torn apart, but rather Not-So-Saint Nicholas.

Nicholas is quite massive in comparison to Glenn, so it’s not a far stretch to imagine that Glenn would be perfectly secure and safe (albeit uncomfortable AF) under his (sort of) friend’s dead body.

One may argue against this by saying that the walkers would just eat through Nicholas and then get to Glenn, but you have to remember that walkers don’t always eat the whole body. They prefer their kills super fresh, and once they deem their kill to be past the expiration date (hypocrites), they normally move on.

Or, perhaps Glenn was able to sneak under that dumpster (which DEFINITELY has enough clearance for him) just in time to avoid becoming dinner.

OR, there is still a chance that the walkers could be distracted by noise and go fleeing towards it – a noise kind of like Rick mowing down some Wolves with an assault rifle.

In all cases, Glenn would be covered in blood and guts, which is, as we know, the perfect camo in the zombie apocalypse (and it’s a trick Glenn himself used way back in season 1 to get out of Atlanta).

2. Steven Yuen did not appear on The Talking Dead

It is tradition for cast members to appear on The Talking Dead right after their characters hit the bucket, so when Steven Yuen (who plays Glenn, obviously) did not appear, that told a story all by itself.

After all, there would be no point for Yuen to appear on the show to talk about his character and basically eulogize himself when his character is still in fact alive. Well, for now at least.

We do know that next week’s episode of TTD will feature a secret character from the show, and I’m willing to bet some serious money that it will be Yuen with a grand “surprise, bitches! I’m still alive.”

3. …and he wasn’t in their ‘In Memoriam’.

It’s also tradition on The Talking Dead to memorialize the fallen (human or walker) on TWD during their In Memoriam’ segment. Nicholas (along with all his Alexandria companions) got his time to shine during the segment, but just when you thought you’d see Glenn’s beautiful face pop up, we see this instead:

If this proves anything, it’s that Glenn’s ‘death scene’ wasn’t cut and dry. If there’s still a mystery to be had even when you see him covered in blood, guts, and like 100 walkers, then that has to mean that he’s not dead.

4. Scott M. Gimple confirmed that he’s still alive… kind of

Show runner Scott M. Gimple sent a message to The Talking Dead (which I guess is our main source of evidence) that makes it clear that we haven’t seen the last of Glenn:

“Dear Fans of The Walking Dead,

This is a hard story to tell, and when we were planning to tell it we knew our friends at Talking Dead would be talking to you about it. And knowing you would all be talking and feeling and commiserating I knew we should say something about it, lest our silence say something we didn’t mean to say or not say. So I’ll say this: In some way we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn again either in flashback or in the current story to help complete the story.”

It’s a very ambiguous statement that is carefully worded as to not reveal anything, but it’s pretty clear that Glenn is coming back. How? Well, just like #3, it proves that his ‘death’ wasn’t cut and dry.

The very fact that Gimple even had to draft this letter to TWD fans means that the writers and producers knew that fans would be speculating over his fate, which makes it very clear that this was a move they made of purpose.

Plus, they’ve done something similar before *cough* Carol *cough* Andrea *cough*.

5. He was seen on set with a new, unseen character

You’ll see Glenn standing next to a new character in the photo below, which was exclusively shared by ET (NOTE: link contains plot spoilers).

Fans of TWD comics should have a general idea as to who that new beanie wearing character is, but for those of you who stick purely to the television show (like myself), we’ll leave his identity a secret!

Bonus: It’s just a shitty way to kill off a main character

Glenn has been with the series literally since the beginning, which is a TOUGH feat in the world of TWD (unless you’re Rick). Killing off his character in such a way is super unsatisfying and feels like a betrayal and complete lack of respect for Yuen and his character. Well, him dying in general sucks, but you know what I mean.

Tyrese got his own spectacular and beautiful sendoff during the episode when he died, so do you really think they’d let Glenn just fall into a pit of walkers and that would be it?

Have some faith. If we know anything about Glenn, it’s that he’s the ultimate survivor.

So rest easy, fans. Glenn is coming back and we’re going to totally get Glaggie (Glenn and Maggie. Lame? Ok) snuggles and kisses.

What are your theories on Glenn’s survival? Or do you just think he became walker food and that was it? Let us know in the comments!

‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Trailer is Here!

The Walking Dead season 6 trailer is here and it’s absolutely INSANE!

The Ricktatorship looks like its back in full force, but for how long? Based on the conversations occurring within the trailer, it seems certain that the Alexandrians are going to vote to kick Rick off the island very soon.

Morgan’s do-good philosophy is in deep conflict with Rick’s own philosophy of giving-no-shits, so season 6 will probably build up to an inevitable battle between the once amicable pair. Plus there’s going to be a ton of walkers fucking shit up.. but you already knew that, didn’t you?

What do you think is going to happen in season 6? Weigh in below!

‘The Walking Dead’: Season 6 Photos Released!

We still don’t have the official trailer for the sixth season of The Walking Dead yet (we’re going to have to wait until AMC reveals it at Comic-Con on the 10th), but what better to way to pre-game for it (besides an extra bloody mary) than with some exclusive new photos from the season?

These photos come thanks to Entertainment Weekly, who revealed them in a special exclusive.

Judging by the bandages on Rick’s face, which are from wounds he received in his gruesome battle with love-triangle partner Pete, we can assume that Season 6 picks off pretty much right where Season 5 ended.

He isn’t wearing his constable uniform anymore, but he IS locked and loaded with what appears to be a rifle secured on his side. And since Alexandria was previously ever so strict about guns within the confines of the town (assuming this is within the town, which it kind of appears to be), it would now seem that the ricktatorship has been firmly implemented.

Daryl looks like, well, Daryl. No surprise here, but the fan service is much appreciated.

Our favorite couple seems to be in trouble… again. What the hell are Glenn and Maggie pointing their guns at? Walkers? Alexandrians? The Wolves? And is that a flying bullet in the upper left hand of the photo with Glenn?

It seems like they’re in genuine danger (and within the walls of Alexandria, at that), but perhaps Rick just has a new suns out guns out policy. Who knows.

Either way we’re going to have to wait until the 10th to get at least some of these questions answered. But knowing The Walking Dead’s history with trailers, we’ll probably just be getting a LOT more speculation.

Where do you think the season is going? Let us know in the comments below!
