The new director for Star Trek just announced on Twitter, the name of the third movie in the reboot franchise and we got a glimpse of the new look on the Starfleet uniform!

Star Trek Beyond is our new title, and the new movie is set to take place well into their five year voyage, to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and  new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.

Beyond will reunite returning cast members, and is rumored to have Idris Elba in talks to play an undisclosed victim. The plot details have not been disclosed yet, but Lin and writers are promising to give us new planets and aliens, rather than more Vulcans and Khans…

Filming began a few days ago, and Star Trek Beyond is slated for a July 8, 2016 release.

New Star Trek Video Game Coming in 2013

Machinima
just posted a teaser trailer for the new Star Trek video game based on JJ Abrams sequel to his 2009 re-imagining of the classic sci-fi television show.

Writer Marianne Krawczyk (God of War) collaborated with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the writing team behind the reboot of the Star Trek film franchise. The game is expected to be a co-op experience, with players having the ability to be either Kirk or Spock.

You can clearly see Zachary Quinto, and Chris Pine’s likenesses in the roles of Spock and Kirk respectively, and while this is being touted as an original story line, it’s hard not to get just a little bit excited that maybe there is a spoiler or two of the movie in this teaser trailer for the game. News coming from the set of the film has been very quiet with only a few photos released recently. There hasn’t even been a reveal of the official title of this film yet, with everyone just dubbing it Star Trek 2 in the press, even though there is already Star Trek 2: the Wrath of Khan.
